Product viewSpiral Wound Gasket without Rings
No inner or centering ring; located and confined by the flange
A spiral wound gasket without rings consists of alternating layers of formed metal strip and soft filler, wound together without an inner or centering ring. It combines the strength of the metal winding with the conformability of the filler. It is primarily intended for joints in which the flange geometry securely confines both the inner and outer diameters of the gasket.
- Compression and recoveryMetal strip wound alternately with soft filler
- Confined by the flangeInner and outer diameters must be securely confined by the flange
- ConstructionNo inner ring and no centering ring
Features
- Alternating metal winding and filler provide compressibility and recovery.
- Winding and filler materials can be selected to suit the medium, temperature, and pressure.
- The simple construction is suited to flange arrangements that restrain radial movement and prevent excessive compression.
- Available as standard circular rings and nonstandard shapes made to equipment drawings.

Standards & supply options
- Made to the mating flange standard or equipment drawing, with a choice of nominal sizes, thicknesses and material combinations.
Typical applications
- Tongue-and-groove, male-and-female, and other flange arrangements that securely confine the gasket.
- Confined sealing locations in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and equipment flanges.
- Custom flange connections in oil, chemical processing, power generation, and industrial piping applications.
Selection & service notes
Suited to flanges that confine both gasket diameters and limit compression. Selection parameters include facing type, medium, temperature, pressure and assembly load. For PTFE filler to ASME B16.20, select a construction with an inner ring.
Dimensions & specifications
Detailed specification tables are being prepared. Include dimensions, thickness, mating flange, materials and service conditions in your enquiry.
