Expanded PTFE Gasket
Soft; conforms easily to uneven sealing faces
Expanded PTFE has a microporous, fibrous structure produced by expanding PTFE. It is available as sheet gaskets, sealing tape, and products cut or formed to agreed profiles. Compared with conventional PTFE, it is generally softer and more conformable to irregular sealing surfaces, making it suitable for flanges with low available assembly loads, large-diameter equipment, and on-site maintenance.

Selection & service notes
For sealing faces requiring a conformable gasket, match directional properties, density, compression and creep behavior to flange load. Material stability is especially important for narrow faces, high internal pressure or extrusion gaps.
